Freedom Writers
This is a true story of strength, courage and achievement in the face of adversity.
At Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California, an idealistic teacher named Erin Gruwell faced her first group of students, dubbed by administrators as "unteachable, at-risk" teenagers. The class was a diverse mix of African-American, Latino, Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Caucasian students, many of whom had grown up in rough neighborhoods in Long Beach. In the first few weeks of class, the students made it clear that they were not interested in what their teacher had to say, and made bets about how long she would last in their classroom.
Then a pivotal moment changed their lives forever. When a racial caricature of one of the African-American students circulated the classroom, Erin Gruwell angrily intercepted the drawing and compared it to the Nazi caricatures of Jews during the Holocaust. To her amazement, the students responded with puzzled looks. Erin Gruwell was appalled to discover that many of her students had never heard of the Holocaust. When she asked how many in her class had been shot at, however, almost all of them raised their hands, and began lifting their shirts to show their scars. This initiated a battle-scar show-and-tell that left Erin Gruwell shocked and inspired to take advantage of the powerful energy she had sparked.
By fostering an educational philosophy that valued and promoted diversity, she transformed her students' lives. She encouraged them to rethink rigid beliefs about themselves and others, to reconsider daily decisions, and to rechart their futures. With Erin's steadfast support, her students shattered stereotypes to become critical thinkers, aspiring college students, and citizens for change. They even dubbed themselves the "Freedom Writers" - in homage to the Civil Rights activists the "Freedom Riders" - and published a book.
From the moment they named themselves the "Freedom Writers," the students of Room 203 changed from a group of apathetic, frustrated students to a closely knit, motivated family. The Freedom Writers have continued their mission to teach tolerance and share their story of success.

Soul
Lied a body…with its eyes so gloomy and field so soggy…
Soul emerged underneath the skin…
It emerged like sun would rise after dawn….
Or phoenix emerged from its ashes….
Soul picked up its pace and moved ahead….
It went up the hill, crossed the river….
It went up the sky and went so high…
Came down and hit so hard….
Like an empty glass thrown from the top….
Soul had some fun….
Before it was terrified…..
Terrified with the thought…..
That it had to leave and leave quickly…
Before the arrival of angel or devil….
Soul had a thought….
Thought was hard….thought twice…
Like how did I die….was I good enough to die…
Soul sobbed for a second…..
Sobbed even wolves were terrified……
A light emerged from the sky….
Light was hard it was harder than ever….
Only the soul could see the light….
Beneath the bright light…
Arrived the angel….
The angel was white…..
Like a diamond from black emerald of sky….
Puzzled with the look of soul…
Angel took its hand…
Angel flew with the soul…
It also went up the hill, crossed the river…
It also went up the sky and went high…
Came down the angel, came with the soul……
Pointed to the body…
which was lying…..right there before….
soul saw its master…
soul saw to whom it belonged….
Soul asked “how did I die….”
Angel replied “you didn’t die…you were killed….
Killed with your thoughts…
You killed yourself……”
Now soul remembered everything…
It came haunting, it came with fear…
Soul closed its eyes….
Never wanted to open his eyes….
Angel took the soul….
Took it so far….
Took it so high…
That it could never come down..
Such was the fate of the soul…
Didn’t realize….when it was alive…
Didn’t realize….when it died..

Time
It happened neither too slow….
I didn’t catch where did it go…
I just watched it, pass by…..
I never saw what just went by…..
I always believed it stayed with me all the time…….
I always tried to be with it…all the time…..
Gave my efforts not to let it go….
But it slipped out ……
Like a sand through my hand…..
It changed my perception all together….
It changed my mind as now or never……
I am too weak to accept it….
I am too shrewd to show mercy…..
May be I reacted late….
May be I was sleep….
When it passed by….
I could have stopped it on my own….
Now I am feeling restless….
I am feeling the pain…..
The pain of letting things go…..
Which are close to you….
Even when you don’t want to let it go…..
Though…it taught me a lesson ….
Taught me something……
Time does not wait…..
Time just passes by …….
You have to make the most of it……
When it is on your side……
Don’t be late…..
Don’t be shy….
Don’t ever hide….
When it passes by…..
To accept the fact…that you have lost…
But gained from what you have lost…..

Cocaine
Emptiness in my heart..
Emptiness in my soul..
Emptiness in my mind..
No matter where ever i go..
Feeling the urge for that powder....
Feeling she is the one that will keep me higher..
She is the only friend i have....
But some say she is the only foe i have...!!
Lost ny friend, i had..
Lost ny thoughts, i had..
Pre occupied in my mind..
she is the only trust i have...
Wearing the same jeans all the time..
listening to the same song all the time..
I can not justify myself in this time..
b'coz...i am in my own world...all the time..!!
What about my religon..
what about my soul..
i am too lost to find out...
b'coz....i have violated ny religon i had..
i have violated ny soul i had..
I don't go out that much..
i don't see the light that much..
i don't breathe that well..
b'coz....there is a poison that runs in my vein...that
purifies me..but pollutes my brain and my soul...
There is no evil on my side...
evil is in me..
i'd like kill that evil...someday...
through whatever will i have left...
b'coz i do want to live...
i don't want to die.....
I also want to feel the pain...
I also want to feel happiness...
I also want to face the truth....
I want a life which is filled with life and joy...
I want a life which begs no more...
I want a life with no "coke" any more...

Simple man
nor i am a writer...
neither am i scholar...
but i do believe, i do think...
what world am i lving in..
Is the whole world made of scholars, poets and writers..
i guess not...
I am not finding a light, in the age of darkness...
nor i am trying to be a socialist in a world full of posers,preachers...
but i do believe, i do think...
what world am i lving in..
Is the whole world made of posers,preachers..
i guess not...
I am not an optimist...
nor i am an pessimist...
so what world would it be if there were no optimist and pessimist..
Is the whole world made of optimist and pessimist...
i guess not....
but i do believe,i do think..
i am a simple man....
who needs a shelter, which covers me internally and externally...
i need food , which could make me starve no more...
i am a simple man..
whose ambitions are far greater than his dreams..
i am simple man...
who hardly finds peace at ease.....
Now i do believe, i do think...
what world am i living in...
it's a world not filled with posers,preachers...
nor filled with poets, writers and scholars...
it's filled by few simple men...
who creates the difference...
being simple and extrodinary.
Yes, now i believe and now i feel...
that a simple man is not so simple.....
The Godfather
Eventually i got to know the essence of the movie when i watched it in my college days.
The Godfather is a 1972 crime drama film based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Mario Puzo and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, with a screenplay by Puzo, Coppola, and an uncredited Robert Towne. It stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard S. Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte and Diane Keaton, and features John Cazale and Abe Vigoda. The story spans ten years from 1945 to 1955 and chronicles the Italian-American Corleone crime family.
With every scene being so intense, from begining to end, as a viewer you somehow seem to get involved in the story. The shear presence of Marlon Brando as the central character creates an utter demenour that nobody could have attempted in the histroy of american cinema.
The movie starts with amerigo bonasera sitting in a room and asking for justice for her daughter is a flawless scene. Every scene is flawless , it was highly unlikely for this movie not to recieve any academy awards as it recieved academy award for best actor, best adapted screenplay and best picture. In addtion to that , it is ranked as the second greatest film in American cinematic history behind citizen kane.
The movie starts with the wedding party of godfather's daughter, where lot of his freinds came for help, as tom hagen said that ""no Sicilian can refuse a request on his daughter's wedding day".
But actully the movie starts to pick up it's pace when family meets with the Virgil "The Turk" Sollozzo (Al Lettieri) , who is being backed by the rival Tattaglia family. He asks Don Corleone for financing, political and legal protection for the importation and distribution of heroin, but despite the huge amount of money to be made, Corleone refuses, explaining that his political influence would be jeopardized by a move into the narcotics trade.
Then Sollozzo attacks godfather and then tries to negotiate with Sonny Corleone through Tom Hagen. From there on the character of Michael Corleone seems to take it's shape which is played by none other than "Al Pacino". If you oberve in the movie the character of Michael Corleone at first seems to be very quiet, shy and submissive, a son who actually does not want's his hands to get dirty in family buisness, a son who wants to make his mark on his own, a son who never spoke to his father about his future and a son who would be the next successor of godfather. That was really a surprise but only AL Pacino could have pulled it off. In the end of the movie where Michael Corleone was made godfather to her sister's child, at the same time head of the five families were executed, it's one of the best scenes in the movie.
My thought's about this movie is that it's all time classic movie a must watch movie, no matter how many times you watch, you will never find the place boredom from this movie. Although there are differences from the original novel, but if you ask me i liked the movie than the novel.
In the end i would like to say in the genre of godfather "It's a movie you could not refuse".
